GenAI in CS Education Summit for African Universities

Reimagining Computer Science Education in Africa with Generative AI

  • 18-20 February 2026
  • The Bickley Park Hotel, Lagos, Nigeria

About the Summit

Tech Summits are our annual training workshops aimed to inspire and equip university and college students in Africa to thrive in the 21st century global workplace. The one- week hybrid event is designed to provide students with exposure to opportunities in the Africa tech industry and beyond, elevate the next generation of tech leaders in Africa, and building a thriving truly African-centered technology ecosystem.

It includes hands-on training in both technical and soft skills, aiming to educate the students on skills and knowledge for the AI economy, incubate entrepreneurship initiatives to foster youth-led enterprises, and create pipelines and programs to connect talented students with tech employers on the continent.

Strategic Objectives

The primary objective of the summit is to examine how computer science education in African universities can be strategically redesigned to better prepare graduates for an AI-driven global economy. The program will convene experts from leading technology organizations, including Google, alongside academics and curriculum designers, to identify the challenges African institutions must address and the unique contributions they can make to global AI education. The ultimate goal of the summit is the development of locally relevant, culturally grounded, and AI-native computer science learning models—designed for Africa, by Africa

  • How can we redesign our CS curricula to equip the next generation of Africans for an AI-driven future?
  • What challenges must we confront, and what contributions are African institutions uniquely positioned to make to global AI education?
  • What skills, mindsets, and practical knowledge must today’s students acquire to become tomorrow’s African innovators and tech entrepreneurs?

Target Participants

Participants include computer science faculty, curriculum leads, and department heads from 27 universities across seven African countries:

  • NIGERIA
  • GHANA
